Crazy Little Thing Called Love

'What is love?' is the most clichéd yet one of the most difficult questions asked by mankind. It is  hard  to answer because one can never explain love. You feel it, experience it and enjoy it. Everyone has different experiences which cannot be compared with each other. I asked a couple of friends what love meant to them. I got many answers, all of which meant different things.A friend quoted Shakespeare from his play, 'As You Like It' and said:
Love is to be all made of sighs and tears, It is to be all made of fantasy, It is to be all made of faith and service, All made of passion and all made of wishes, All adoration, duty, and observance, All humbleness, all patience and impatience, All purity, all trial, all observance.'

Another friend said, 'It isn't only about the love between a girl and a guy. Love is also the feeling you get when your mom hugs you when you're down. When your friend completes homework for you even though their busy. It's when your sister saves you from trouble even when she isn't talking to you. It's when your dad doesn't say anything even though you haven't lived up to his expectations. That is what love is about.' And yes, it is. It's all about sacrifice and interdependence.

Love has different definitions in the worlds of different people. Either impersonal or interpersonal, everyone does love at least once in their entire life. And the outcome, whether good or bad, only time can tell. I've heard many people say love hurts. 'Love is very unexpected. But when it hits you, it HITS you in the face.' That's what another friend said. Which is why I believe that love needs to be handled with care. Once broken, you can never bring the pieces back together. But at the same time, many people have lived through the fights and stuck together no matter how wrong times were.

'Love is beyond the flirting, kissing and cuddling. It is the feeling you feel for each other without these.' That's what a very close friend said to me and I don't think any person who genuinely loves someone would deny this. Love needs to be pure and chaste. Loving someone else for their materialistic gains isn't love. One should know that there is a difference between impersonal and interpersonal love.
Quoting what another person said, 'It's the most retarded, genuine and intense emotion one can ever feel.' Everyone feels at some point of their life they may be crazy to love something/someone, and sometimes the whole world may think they're crazy for doing so. But they still know it's worth it. Love is not giving up even the whole world is against you.

'Hum ek baar jeete hai. Ek baar marten hai, Shaadi bhi ek hi baar karte hai aur pyaar bhi ek bar hi hota hai.' Meaning, 'We all live once, die once, we all get married once and lastly, fall in love only once.' When my friend told me this, I couldn't stop smiling. It is very true indeed. True love can only be experienced once in a lifetime. I'd like to finally end this post by quoting my sister. She said: 'Love is true and unconditional.
Everyone deserves to be loved.'
Credits to all my friends (and sister): Sonali, Veronica, Vedika, Aakanksha, Naman, Akshay and Aarti. I couldn't have done this without you all :*.
